DragonFly, born Perla Andrea Meneses, is a Colombian-American bilingual recording artist and songwriter. At age 15, she moved from her hometown Bogota, Colombia to South Florida where she began performing in the electro-pop music scene of Miami's South Beach. She later gained international exposure through the hit television show American Idol. It was following American Idol where she began to transform into the artist known as DragonFly.
Since then, she’s worked with some of EDM’s most popular producers teaming up with Grammy nominated super-star DJ and producer Bob Sinclar on the hit single “Rock the Boat” which also features Pitbull and Fatman Scoop. “Rock the Boat” was one of the biggest singles on Bob Sinclar’s album Disco Crash that topped the charts in countries all over the globe. Besides working with the legendary Sinclar, DragonFly has been featured on a variety of singles and remixes from Martin Solveig, Ron Carroll, Tony Kelly, Bassjackers, Baggi Begovic, Cutee B, Riddler, Ollie Jones and more with many of the tracks being released through Ministry of Sound, Strictly Rhythm, Barclay, X-Energy and Yellow Productions.
Check out her hot single from Duane Harden’s new album #NB4U where she teamed up with the Sidney Samson, Duane Harden, Big Ali and DaOutsidaz on the album’s first single “Like It Ruff”. Also, coming soon, she’s back with Ron Carroll on a new track titled “Sledgehammer” soon to be released on HouseSession Records that’s sure to get the dance floors jumping.
